Being a personal trainer isn’t a job to me, it’s a way of life! Ever since I was a child, I loved staying active and fit. The older I became, the more that passion for fitness grew. Because my passion for helping others was just as strong, I decided to go to school for personal training at the American Academy of Personal Training (AAPT) in Boston, MA, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I developed knowledge and skills that I will use for the rest of my life. I love what I do. Helping others overcome challenges in their lives and watching them reach their health and fitness goals is gratifying and is enough to keep me doing what I do!
Fitness is about being a healthier version of you each day.

I opened Fitness Within because of a medical condition that challenged my ability to lose and keep off weight and the lack of gyms and studios that understood this type of challenge. I wanted a fitness studio where everyone would be encouraged, motivated, and held accountable with the right mixture of compassion, where everyone experiences progression to realize their full potential, and most importantly, where everyone sees long-term results.
I previously served as a BNI Director/Consultant and oversaw three chapters under the BNI Mass region. I was on the Board of Directors for the Reading North Reading Chamber of Commerce for six years. While on the board, I was the 2020 president and held the position of Vice President, 2nd Vice President, and Secretary.

I did not take the normal path to becoming a trainer. In fact, earlier in my professional career you would have found me overweight, out of shape and hunched over a keyboard grinding through my days. Finally I woke up and decided to start investing in my health, both physically and mentally. I joined Fitness Within as a member and it was the best decision of my life. The support and encouragement from the trainers sparked not only a physical transformation, but also a new found passion for exercise science and nutrition that I wish I had only realized years earlier. Now my focus has changed from my own health and wellness goals, to an even stronger drive to help others achieve theirs, whether it be to gain strength, lose excess weight, overcome physical setbacks, or live a more enjoyable and functional life later into their years.
I believe in leveraging evidence-based exercise and nutrition concepts to help my clients achieve their personal goals and invest in themselves each and every day.

I know firsthand the challenges of embarking on a fitness journey because I’ve been there myself. In the not-so-distant past, I found myself out of shape and lacking the energy I needed to live life to the fullest.
My transformation didn’t happen overnight, but through hard work, dedication, and a passion for wellness, I managed to turn my life around. The journey taught me that fitness is not just about physical appearance but a holistic approach to well-being. It’s about feeling strong, confident, and empowered in your own body.
My mission is to inspire and guide others on their unique fitness journeys, helping them achieve their goals and uncover the best version of themselves.
Whether you’re a beginner taking the first steps toward a healthier lifestyle or someone looking to level up their fitness game, I’m here for you. My training programs are designed not only to transform your body but to cultivate a sustainable, positive mindset that extends beyond the gym.
Transforming lives through fitness is not just my job; it’s my passion, and I believe that every journey to a healthier self begins with a single, committed step.

Throughout the years, fitness has impacted my life in so many ways and helped shape the person I would become. I grew up playing many different sports, but I never truly realized how necessary fitness was until I joined the Army. My physical and mental well-being in my day-to-day life became directly reliant on if I was working out and taking care of myself. After that, I began to take pride in continuous hours of exercise research and sharing that with others in my unit. From that, I began to see the gears turning that would lead me to become a personal trainer. When my army contract ended, I started working towards my degree in Exercise Science. I obtained a certification in personal training through NASM to begin working in the field and start changing people’s lives.
Everyone has challenges and obstacles in their life. Still, I believe everyone has the power to face those challenges head-on to make a difference in their own life. I cannot force anyone to change their life, but I will gladly use my knowledge and expertise to be the tool someone needs to achieve their goals and improve their lives.

As a builder and contractor for over 20 years, I had thought I was in shape – my job is very labor-intensive. I took Dom up on an offer to work out with him, thinking I would smoke him. I had no idea that though I was able to go through my day and do my job, it did not mean I was fit. As time went on, my obsession with fitness increased, and in the fall of 2018, I realized that I wanted to be a trainer at the studio and help transform lives.
I draw on my experience as a Marine to help to motivate, inspire, and to push others to go past their comfort zone. I want each person I train to remove self-doubt and achieve more than what they had planned. To help them understand that you can do and achieve anything, you set your mind to do. I will have the faith and confidence they need until they can realize it for themselves.
Never give up.

RYT-200 Yoga Teacher Training
As a former collegiate runner, I always appreciated the benefits and importance of stretching. Still, I began to dedicate myself to yoga after I suffered a series of injuries from a brief but intense marathon career. After trying a varity of yoga styles, I fell in love with power and vinyasa yoga. Through consistent practice, I gained strength and flexibility, experienced fewer injuries, and developed a whole new skill set for managing the stresses and strains of everyday life. After practicing for 15 years, I decided to train as a yoga teacher to introduce others to the endless benefits of yoga. In my classes, I strive to provide a challenging alignment-based practice accessible to all experience levels.
You don’t have to be extreme, just consistent.

Fitness has always played an enormous role in my life. Growing up, I had always participated in sports, primarily basketball and soccer. I coached basketball at a summer camp and later for my hometown Middle School Girls’ basketball team.
At 22, I attended and graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy as a member of the 26th Basic Law Enforcement Training Program. I worked in Law Enforcement for six years, just over three years as a patrol officer, and under three years as a Special Agent for the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency. During my time as a law enforcement officer, I taught weekly HIIT classes for the city employees, received Officer of the Year for my dedication to fitness, and obtained a Law Enforcement Fitness Specialist Certification from the Cooper Institute.
Through Law Enforcement, fitness altered my entire life in the most positive way. I grew to love strength training and nutrition so much that I realized it was something I could no longer do only part-time. I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to bring that same positive change to others. I moved from Northern Maine to Massachusetts to pursue a career in the personal training industry, and the rest is history. I am so grateful to be part of the Fitness Within Team, and I can’t wait to bring the changes fitness has made in my to others.

I am so excited to be joining the Fitness Within team! I can attest first hand to the positive impact training here can have on your life. I have been able to PR for half marathons and 5Ks, and develop a love for powerlifting. This place has helped me accomplish more than I thought I could. Now I get a chance to pass that motivation along!
The human body has always fascinated me, and as a Physical Therapist, my job is to rehab the body back to functioning properly. What I love about being a personal trainer though, is that my job is to coach the body to excel. I believe that your goals are the priority, and I will do everything I can to help you reach them.
